Starting in our founders family garage, we've taken an organic path to grow the business. Fast forward to 2026, we're turning beer waste into high quality insect protein and natural fertiliser. We recycle local spent brewers grains from Rebellion Beer Co., and wheat feed from Oxford Flour Mill.

Using the power of BSF Larvae

Using the power of BSF Larvae

Once by-products from local businesses are collected, they are taken back to Home Farm and fed to Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL). At our site, we have two hand-made containers specifically designed for rearing BSFL. Within 13 days BSFL quickly process organic waste and create two high-value and sustainable products.

Chitin-Enhanced Frass

Chitin-Enhanced Frass

Once the larvae are separated, the material left behind is the frass. This product is a complex mixture containing the nutrient-dense insect waste, leftover fragments of the initial feed, and the shed exoskeletons left behind as the larvae molt and grow. Our frass is Cawood-tested with a balanced 5-2-2 NPK, meaning it has all the readily available nutrients for plant growth & soil health.

UK Grown Calciworms

UK Grown Calciworms

Over 50 tonnes of Calciworms are imported into the UK annually. NextSource are proud to be one of the leading manufacturers here in the UK. Larvae are harvested directly from our site at Home Farm and dried to produce high quality bird feed for your garden wildlife. They are an excellent sustainable alternative to mealworms, containing up to 37x more calcium.
